How our process works

• Start looking for your perfect dress up to 18 months prior to your wedding date.  This may sound like a long time, but you have to find your dress, which shouldn't be rushed.  It could be in the first shop or the tenth but when you do, there is a possibility it can take approximately 6 months to arrive after ordering.

• Make an appointment with us, preferably via the contact form or via our social media pages or give us a ring on the shop number.  This will divert to my mobile, so I'm always available for you out of hours.  Although we would be happy to offer a consultation if you chance popping in, there is a chance I will already be with a bride so will be unable to see you.

• Once we've got you booked in, your no pressure appointment will last approx. 90 minutes.  There is free parking outside the shop but only for 60 minutes so try the 3 hours free parking behind or 2 hours down many of the side streets.

• Don't worry about wearing fancy dancy underwear.  As long as you have some comfy knicks on, that will do.  It's highly unlikely that you will need a bra with your wedding dress as they usually have built in corsetry, so chances are it will have to be removed anyway.

• Your appointment will be with myself on a one-to one basis and in the privacy of your own dressing room with a couple of your nearest and dearest.

• We allow you to bring 2 guests to your consultation, so choose carefully.  We can squeeze in three as an absolute maximum but we believe in keeping the appointment small and intimate without too many opinions.  At the end of the day, it's how YOU feel in the dresses.  

• Should you find your dress with us, we are happy to make a second appointment for the rest of your crew to see the dress, although most decline as they decide to keep it a secret.

• After an initial introduction and a chat about your venue, thoughts and ideas, you will be encouraged to choose a few dresses you like the look of on the rail.  After tryin these on and me listening to your honest feedback on each dress, I will bring through more styles for you to try taking this information in to account.

• We don't allow photography during the consultation.  A photograph never does theg own justice.  You will know when it's "the one" through how you feel in the dress.  Again, we're happy to make a second appointment for a retry before you buy if you wish.  Give you a little breathing space.  At the end of the day, if it's YOUR dress, you'll be back!  

• Should you find the dgress of your dreams, it will either be from stock or it will have to be ordered in for you.  If it is in stock, there will be a down payment required and then the dress will be yours! If we have to order in for you, your measurements will be taken and a 50% initial payment made before it's ordered from our designer. The balance can be paid in a lump sum or via a payment plan we can arrange between us, so don't think you have to pay for the dress on your first visit.

• Whether your dress is in stock or has arrived from the designer, we will happily store your dress for you until your alterations start. There is no charge for storage or for the dress bag it will be stored in.

• We offer in-house alterations to give you confidence in your purchase. These would commence approx 10 weeks before your wedding and we will get you booked in nearer the time. They will be at an extra cost, but your seamstress will quote you at your first visit.  Expect to pay around £250 for basic alterations.

• Once your dress is the perfect fit, we usually arrange your collection the day before your wedding so you can take it straight to the venue or to wherever you are getting ready.  This saves you having to find somewhere to store as ideally it needs to be hung high and out of the dress bag. 

• All in all, we are here for you all throughout your journey to your wedding. not just the day you say "yes".
